The Star

From antiquity, the stars have been related to immortality. Zeus placed heroes among the stars on a regular basis. Stars also represent the inner light of spirit. When you gaze at the stars at night, how often do you feel the power of greater possibility in your life?

The card depicts energy flowing into the water and the earth in equal measure. This suggests that you may want to pour your energy equally into practical activities and emotional effort.

When the Star appears in a reading, you have the opportunity to engage your perceptions in order to comprehend events and actions more clearly. You also have the opportunity to accept psychic or intuitive insights that have been trying to come through to you.

"The Star pictures an important step toward a more conscious and active participation in the process of individuation."

~ Sallie Nichols

The first step toward truth is perception. This perception should embrace both sides of the situation.

~ C. C. Zain

The passage from the death and darkness
Of the Outer
Into the life and light
Of the Inner
Is but the turning of the eye of the soul
From the contemplation of appearance
To the vision of reality.

~ Paul Foster Case
